Amazon announced it is expanding the distribution of its best-selling Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablets to 170 countries and its Amazon Appstore to 200 countries. The tablets are now available for preorder and will start shipping on June 13. This is great news for those who live in countries where the Kindle Fire HD are currently available for delivery.
Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ are prices from $214 and $284 respectively with both models have either 16GB or 32GB of storage. This is a little higher compared to the US price of the tablets at $199 and $269, respectively.
If you previously own a Kindle Fire but your country is not on Amazon’s country of distribution, you will be restricted in downloading from Amazon Appstore. But now that Amazon has expanded its distribution to 170 countries and your country is included, you have access to literally millions of books, magazines and newspapers. Amazon’s ebooks rights vary from country to country thus Amazon has a country specific information so buyers know what books and magazines are available in their country.
Kindle Fire HD is an excellent adult tablet which can be used by children because of its parental controls. Kindle Fire HD has FreeTime which allows parents to choose the books, apps and games for their child to access and set a different limit for each. This profile can only be deactivated using the parental password. The Kindle Fire HD can be an excellent family tablet.
The international shipment is subject to customs duties, import taxes and other fees levied by the destination country and the computation is available upon checkout.
